Marche de la Bièvre (The walk by the Bièvre)

For hiking lovers, that’s the exciting event of night walking to discover one of the Parisian rivers – the Bièvre – and the region around it. It’s organized by a French hiking federation every year in spring and in 2019 will be held on May 11-12. It unites around 2000 hikers ! Price range 11-16€ depending on a program. Inscription fees cover the meals and drinks during the walk and organizational costs.

There are 4 different hiking programs according to your needs:

Marche à la Lune (50km), in other words, the walk by the moon. The start is on May 11, at midnight. Inscription on internet is 14€ + 2€ in the start. Meeting point – in front of the Notre Dame. From 22h you can take the bracelet which you’ll need for getting meals.

Marche à L’Aurore (30km), the walk of dawn. The start is on May 12, at 4h in the morning. Inscription on internet is 11€ + 2€ in the start. Meeting point – Verrières-le-Buisson (in the Espace Jean Mermoz). From 3:40h you can take the bracelet which you’ll need for getting meals.

Marche au Soleil (20km), the walk in the sun. The start is on May 12, at 8h in the morning. Inscription on internet is 9€ + 2€ in the start. Meeting point – Bièvres (Centre Ratel). From 7:15h you can take the bracelet which you’ll need for getting meals.

Marche Nordique (20km), the Nordic walk. The start is on May 12, at 7:30h in the morning. Inscription on internet is 9€ + 2€ in the start. Meeting point – Bièvres (Centre Ratel). From 6:45h you can take the bracelet which you’ll need for getting meals.

All programs finish at Guyancourt –
Maison de quartier Pierre Mendès France – 7 rue Guy Barrillio. Ordered buses will take you to Versailles Chantier and Rive Gauche stations. You can plan your iterinary back to Paris by RATP, ViaNavigo and Citymapper apps.

The name Bièvre is sometimes translated as Beaver River, it’s a 36km long river that flows into the Seine in Paris. It was running through the 5th and 13th areas (arrondissements) of Paris around 100 years ago.
